
Fort Bend County Judge Elect KP George being falicitated by SK Cherian, President of Houston chapter and Lakshmi Peter, Houston Women’s Forum President.
MISSOURI CITY, TX – World Malayalee Council Houston Province Inaugurated their Women’s Forum this Sunday at St Joseph Syro Malabar Auditorium under the leadership of WMC Houston Women’s Forum President Lakshmi Peter. The inauguration was done by Fort Bend County Judge Elect KP George who was also felicitated by the province President.
The President of Houston chapter SK Cherian spoke of the province’s activities through out the year, the America region President James Koodal congratulated the women’s Forum and the Province Chairman Jacob Kudassanad encouraged future activities.
The inauguration was kicked off with an Awards night for Women from various fields of work. Awardees were Dr. Sabina Cherian for medicine, Mrs Ponnu Pillai for Community Service & Social Welfare, Mrs Robby Mathew for Home Health Services, Dr. Nisha Sundaragopal for Dentistry and Community Service, Sheeba Jacob for Faith Media Contributions, Himi Haridas for Fashion and Media. Juliet George was recognized as Miss Teen Malayalee USA 2018 and Reshmi Surendran recognized as Miss Malayalee USA 2018.

Lakshmi Peter said, “I am passionate about empowering women and this was an apt way to inaugurate the Houston chapter’s women’s forum by recognizing these strong people for all their dedication, we look forward to many more future ventures.”
The program ended with new office bearers taking their oath as new President Jomon Edyadi and General Secretary Raina Sunil of the Houston province. Several dignitaries attended the event including Stafford city councilman Mr Ken Mathew and HCC Trustee Ms Neeta Sane.
