Diwali Dinner Gala 2018 On Saturday, November 3rd, the Gayatri Consciousness Center of Katy & the Temple of Ma Gayatri, Lord Shri Ganesh, Hanumanji & Lord Shiva, located at 20914 Park Row in Katy, held it’s first Diwali Dinner Gala! This musical and cultural event was attended by over 250 enthusiastic people wanting to celebrate Diwali with their friends & family.
Umangbhai Mehta of Deep Foods, a great supporter of the Gayatri Temple, along with his wife, did the honor of inaugurating the event by lighting the lamp.
From 5:30 to 9:30 PM, the well decorated event venue was filled with beautiful dance performances, enchanting Bollywood music, delicious food and fun.
Dances were presented by talented moms of Bal Sanskar Shala, Bharata Darshana ¬ a school of Indian Classical Dance and Music, Abhinay School of Performing Arts and The Houston Bhagini Group of tal-ented & energetic senior ladies of Houston.
Complementary Diwali Gala Portrait & Photography Services were provided by Ejaz Karmalli & Aziz Jumma of 24/7 Digital Media Productions. Great DJ services were provided by DJ Reyan Karmali & Zain Karmali.
Towards the end of the evening, all attendees were enchanted by the astounding Bollywood song performances by the talented singers of “Suronke’ Pal” a group headed by Bud Patel, an accomplished actor himself. The singers sang soulful Hindi songs to the audience for the rest of the evening while food was served. Mukta Vijaywargiya, Mansi Joshi and Vinayak Trivedi dazzled the crowd by their mag-ical voice! Vibhas Dhurandhar entertained the crowd with his comedy and shayari, which were well received by the audience! Bud Patel made a special appearance as Jappi Da.
The amazing singers of Bud’s group, Suronke’ Pal Gayatri Consciousness Center volunteers took the stage to celebrate Diwali, thank all the sponsors of the event and announce the winning tickets of the raffle. Those who were interested in the raffle were given tickets during the beginning of the event that would benefit towards raising money for the Temple and be counted as a potential winner of the raffle. The raffle was full of amazing prizes for all of it’s lucky winners, with an enthusiastic host to pre-sent it all.
This food and fun¬filled night of entertainment was temple’s first fundraiser event. All money earned went towards meeting the temple’s ongoing needs.
